i just saw the new wt is up and available.

the cover picture looks to me like the one that should have been used on the august 2024 wt but was pulled at the last minute and released with a different picture many weeks later.

someone on here uploaded a low res version of the picture last year.. of course we all know why the picture was pulled in the first place........ george.

Sorry about getting the date wrong, I had just had a call-out as I was posting it. It is of course May 2025. The picture, as far as I can tell is identical to the August 2024 WT (see below) that was cancelled. As I understood it the lady sitting was an ex-JW who had fallen on bad times as everyone does when leaving "the truth"(!) The couple going by to do trolley (cart) witnessing were being faithful by not stopping to talk to her. Rather like the videos at the RC a few years ago when they showed not to answer a phone call from such ones.

Of course in view of the publicly softening the stance on DF and DA ones for the benefit of the Norway court/government this was pulled and the articles rewritten.

Pass on cars to attend Assemblies?

i have just read a post about february 2025 (i suppose) announcements in italy saying that from now on at assemblies they need a pass, given by elders, to put on cars.. is that possible/true?.

Here in the UK we need a pass to display on the car when we attend Circuit Assemblies at Hayes Bridge. It is obtained from a nominated elder and it is a requirement that you have a full complement of passengers.

As regards the Regional Convention at AMEX in Brighton there is very little on site parking. Disabled drivers can get a pass and so can essential workers but once again you must have a full compliment of passengers. The preferred method of travel is a hire coach or public transport. Getting out of the car park at the end of the day is a nightmare apparently.

this information is supposed to be in the upcoming march wt.

(i don’t go on jw dot org).

it would sound like they are hinting at a change in thinking.. in my opinion, any such change would be yet another slap in the face to faithful pimis along with those other recent changes.. there are so many heartfelt responses on that thread and a lot of justified anger.. don’t know what to say except that i’m so glad i never listened to the religion all those years ago.

could possibly be jws called in to do design work that were in that field or had that training before they were jws

So true. I just cannot imagine there being a surfeit of such qualified people queuing up to become JWs.

Still no advance education recommendations?

Yes there are. Don't do it! Just last week's Study WT there was an "experience" of someone who went to Uni to do architecture. Gave it up to pioneer. Probably all made up but they still vilify education. I wonder who does all the design work on their Ramapo site? Pioneers & janitors?

Here in Britain, we have received our announcement through the elder bodies.

Likewise ukpimo. Interestingly, it was read at the midweek meeting this week but also today after the Public Talk. Such announcements, or any others come to that, are never made on a Sunday. They must think this is "important", probably at the insistence of the Legal Department.

Changing the Date of the Memorial?

i noticed in the latest memorial invitation, the dates for the observance are odd--well far more odd than usual.. what i mean is that forever as i can remember, jehovah's witnesses use to advertise really big that this was nisan 14. they don't tend to do this anymore.. and being jewish, their dates now tend to align with passover, or at least with the second seder night of passover.. 2025: saturday, april 12 (nisan 15).

2026: thursday, april 2 (nisan 15/16).

2027: monday, march 22 (nisan 15/16).

The Memorial talk likewise changed some years ago though I cannot remember just when. There is no longer any mention of the Passover, the flight from Egypt, Nisan 14 or anything associated with it. They even removed the old Memorial song.. "'Twas NIsan 14 when your glory was seen..."

Personally I think they have realised their calculations have always been wrong so rather than admit it they have just dropped mention of it. A bit like the Creative Days.

I have always thought their interpretation of "between the two evenings" to be nonsense. Cooking a complete sheep in the that short "twilight" period on an open fire would be impossible, my wife cooks a lamb leg for longer in a fan oven!
